If you can, you will want to incorporate the bar code graphic into the artwork for your product. If your product is printed already then you will want to get stickers. Usually, for a CD release, the bar code graphic is placed somewhere out of the way on the traycard so it can still be seen on the back when it is packaged.

You will also want to download and fill out the Nielsen SoundScan "Title Addition Sheet", from your user area, in order to add your release to SoundScan's database. The Title Addition Sheet must be submitted to SoundScan's Database Department by email at [email protected] or faxed to (914) 684-5606. Once a title is submitted to SoundScan, it can take up to 10-15 business days for it to be entered into the system. Once entered, the title has the ability to be tracked by SoundScan.
