Planet CD - Press Release Service
Planet CD has compiled a list of several hundred people and companies in
the music industry. Your press release will be sent via e-mail to
college radio stations, alternative press newspapers and magazines,
independent labels, A&R; personnel, on-line music e-zines and review
sites. Our service, unlike other press release services, is set
up strictly for musicians promoting their music.
We have 2 options for you: first, you may write your own press release,
e-mail it to us and we will distribute it. Second, we will write
your release (after obtaining information from you) as well as send
it out. If you decide to write your own press release, here are
some important tips to keep in mind:
- Start with For Immediate Release.
- Next - Name, Phone Number, and Email Address of the Contact Person.
- Catchy Header or Title that will entice the reader to read further.
- Dateline location and date followed by one short paragraph covering
all major points in the press release.
- Crisp Description of the Artist, musical style, your objectives/goals.
- Market Profile of your music and potential customers. Who is your
target market.
- Any credits you may have.
- Avoid too much hype. The press will ignore blatant sales pitches.
- Give some additional Contact or artist information, web site address,
etc.
- Limit your press release to 400 words, the equivalent of 1-2 typed
double-spaced pages, with one of the following signs on the bottom
line to end all. # # #

CD writes your release it's $89. That's a $10 saving of the normal
Planet CD price just for being an Independent Records artist. Planet
CD accepts check, money order, Master Card and Visa.
All you need to do to get the service is fill out our Planet CD registration form. Upon receiving your request, Independent
Records will validate your release on their catalog and forward it to Planet CD so you can receive the Independent Records discount.
Planet CD will then follow up with you directly.
